In 2021, Steffanie & John Haueisen authored a comprehensive history of Detrick Estates including its early days as part of the Worthington Manufacturing Company, the Civil War era when it was Camp Lyon, the early 1900’s when James Birkhead farmed fruits & vegetables, and finally the creation and growth of the neighborhood that we know today. The history also includes memories from some of the early residents who grew up in the area.
