The following articles appeared in our newsletter, The Intelligencer and are aimed to dispel common historical myths. There are a number of myths which are spread by docents and others about life in the 18th and 19th century.  The myths sometimes seem logical, but they are not true. Our goal is to bust the myths that make up fictional history which gets passed down from person to person, docent to docent and as these myths are repeated often enough, they become ‘fact.” Several are listed below by topic.
